Over the past 7 years, Insomnia’s Halloween Skate comps and after parties have become legendary within
Melbourne’s skate community, and every year the event grows. The skate competition has several unique elements. Held at Riverside, the best located skatepark in the world, competitors and spectators don creepy costumes for the occasion. Some awesome outfits have been strutted in the past, and the level kicks up a year after year.

Each Halloween the park is painted by Australia’s finest street artists and a different ‘Mystery Obstacle’ is
created specifically for the comp. Every thing from a customised wrecked car, sketchy wallride channel and
the ‘Widowmaker’ rail have been shredded in the past. This ensures the level of ripping is awesome, and the
atmosphere is as rad as expected.

The after parties are infamous, costume essential gigs with rockin bands, rad crew and a touch of Burlesque
thrown in for good measure, with Insomnia team rider footage projected onto a wall.
This year the after party venue will be Miss Libertines, and will feature the launch of the Insomnia Speed Shop as well as performances by bands The Happy Lonesome, The Cheats & Team Rad!
